The International Rescue Committee is hosting its annual Freedom Award Dinner to raise funds to support the organization's lifesaving humanitarian aid work around the world. The Freedom Award, first bestowed in 1957, is presented to individuals for their contributions to the cause of refugees and human freedom. This year's event will honor the Brokaw family: Tom & Meredith Brokaw, Dr. Jennifer Brokaw, Andrea Brokaw Simon and Sarah Brokaw.

WHO: NBC's David Gregory will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The evening, honoring the Brokaw family: Tom & Meredith Brokaw, Dr. Jennifer Brokaw, Andrea Brokaw Simon and Sarah Brokaw, will feature special appearances by John Legend, David Letterman, General Colin Powell, Archie Panjabi, Morena Baccarin, Rosanne Cash, Ann Curry, Anna Deavere Smith, Dick Ebersol, Harold Ford, Jr., Clea Newman Soderlund, Morley Safer, Sir Howard Stringer, Calvin Trillin, Jean Kennedy Smith, Scott Pelley, Ken Auletta & Binky Urban and others. The event attracts some 800 guests every year - among them leading influencers in politics, the arts, society, international affairs, entertainment, academia and media.
