In September 2013 the Hospital Club unveils the Oak Room, a new 100-capacity live performance and showcase space in the heart of Covent Garden. Designed by the award-winning Russell Sage Studio, the Oak Room will serve up an eclectic range of outstanding entertainment for members, from DJs and live performances (featuring some of the UK's best music acts) to high-end comedy, cabaret and jazz nights. Audio partners Peavey will be supplying the sound experience with lighting by Richard Martin Lighting and instruments by Fender and key music events will be recorded for broadcast through select media partners.

Sue Walter, CEO said, "It is not often a new event space opens in Central London which has literally never been seen before. The Oak Room will be integral to The Hospital Club's ethos of showcasing and supporting emerging talent. We are excited to have secured such a diverse range of new and established acts to help launch the space throughout September, with many more lined up over the coming months to give members, artists and guests a uniquely Hospital Club experience."

The full program kicks off with THE REUBEN JAMES TRIO performing on 12 September, an unofficial opening party on Friday 13th with the prolific and talented DJs, mixers and re-mixers PSYCHEMAGIK on the decks, followed by VIN'S NIGHT IN! on 14th September: a fabulous night of live bands and comedy hosted by Vin Goodwin.

From October, the venue will be bookable for private events on Monday and Tuesday evenings, with live entertainment and DJs scheduled throughout the rest of the week. Contributors to the programme include Hamish Jenkinson (The Old Vic Tunnels), Lisa Lee (Bistrotheque) and international DJs to the stars Dan Lywood and Ben Bridgewater (Playlister).

Events will fall into three broad categories: Live Music, Comedy&Cabaret and DJs. Further September highlights include:

LIVE MUSIC Confirmed live sets include TURIN BRAKES on Monday 16 September showcasing tracks from their new album We Were Here, FYFE and PETER&KERRY on Thursday 19 September, with a special appearance from GARY NUMAN on Monday 23 September. These mark the launch of relationships with Cooking Vinyl and Believe Live, and some very special bands who will be trying out their new material courtesy of Gill Mills and NEW MUSIC MATTERS. Award-winning singer and broadcaster JUMOKE FASHOLA hosts the first of her regular evenings of jazz, spoken word and open mic at the Club, JAZZ VERSE JUKEBOX, and SINGERS INC also begin a series of showcases.

COMEDY & CABARET Kicking off the comedy, Jacob Howe Douglas presents COMEDY SURGERY on the 17th with special guests to be confirmed, a BEST OF THE EDINBURGH FRINGE 2013 hot off the East Coast train, and SOIREE POMPETTE return with fistfuls of their great garlicky Gallic grenouilles to tutor us in the ways of comédie Française... Vin is also back in October with the second of his hugely popular monthly Nights In. He says, "Vin's Night In!" is VERY fussy about where it goes. It has to have the right chilled attitude, the right space, and a team who have a passion for hearing new talent and a good dose of humour thrown in. We are so excited to be part of the new space at the Hospital Club."

DJs Dan Lywood and Ben Bridgewater are world-class DJs who between them have played for everyone from Prince Harry to Prada and back again. Under their Playlister banner, they have been working hard to curate London's finest mix of DJs for the new space, with an amazing programme in store. In the first month alone we will see PSYCHEMAGIK take to the decks, followed by the inimitable MIXMASTER MORRIS, BEN BRIDGEWATER, DAN LYWOOD and MUM'S OLD VINYL to name just a few. Weekends at the Hospital Club are about to sound even better.
