The FilmShop is a non-profit organization that provides creative support and resources to its member base. Through weekly peer workshops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Hong Kong, members are connected to a thriving independent film community. Their bi-annual parties bring together musicians, filmmakers, and artists who collaborate on themed events that raise funds for the collective. Members have screened their work at film festivals around the world and have worked for PBS, MTV, WNYC.com, Wall St. Journal, Discovery Channel, and History Channel, amongst others.

Made up of programmer/keyboardist Sammy Rubin and vocalist Jeremy Haines, Project Jenny, Project Jan spans a surprising musical range, from the sinister beats of "320" to the feel good "Summertime"; from the singalong swing of "Brooklyn" to the expansive Bollywood feel of "The Dialogue." One thing remains constant, however: Their kinetic energy, which inspired Billboard to call Project Jenny, Project Jan's live show a "shockingly dynamic, danceable, and hilarious affair." VanityFair.com called the band "awesome" and enthusiastically recommended its show "to anyone with functional knee and elbow joints."

At a time when music is reactive and futuristic, it is important to embrace the surroundings while keeping true to the authentic core that defines an artist. ANALOG FIRE sits on the fringes, constantly experimenting, collaborating and searching while holding faithful to their commitment: Pulses, shakes, pounds and soul to keep the crowd moving.

The Dear Hunter is the full-time progressive rock project of Casey Crescenzo, formerly of post-hardcore band The Receiving End of Sirens. The band got its name from the lead character of the story that he wrote to go along with the music. The sound is unlike that of Casey's former band, with musical roots deep-set in the progressive rock genre and utilizing a wider variety of instrumentation.

The early birthing pains of O' Brother saw Michael Martens, Johnny Dang, and his brother Anton Dang joined in making quiet climbs from graceful notes , a struck pose to an older guitar focused indie-rock. But as is the duty of all freshman bands members fade off and new friends, like Tanner Merritt and Aaron Wamack, joined establishing a new vision, and accidently stumbling into the dark 2009 debut EP The Death of Day.

Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground is an indie band started by Kirk Huffman and Kyle O'Quin of Gatsbys American Dream. Like Gatsbys, the band draws influence from a wide variety of musical genres. Though the band only has three official members, they have been known to perform with as many as 11 additional musicians on stage.

Bruising bashers THE GATES OF SLUMBER deftly defy death on their latest volcanic eruption, Hymns of Blood & Thunder. Remember that time when Conan strapped your head to the Anvil of Crom, and then those three bearded, burley bastards bludgeoned it to a bloody pulp using a giant hammer forged of Wrought-Iommi? Well, it's that time again as Indianapolis heaviest sons return with their latest full length epic!

Ex members of Castanets, VIRGIN FOREST members currently play in Phosphorescent. Countless tours and shows with those outfits have helped to forge fluidity and musical rapport seldom heard in bands today. Virgin Forest and Phosphorescent both offer a unique take on traditionally "American" music but the similarities end there. Virgin Forest's debut LP, "Joy Atrophy," like Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors,"... is the sound of love being pulled apart from the inside.

On a personal level Figurines is a triumph. Musically the album reaches back to the power of Skeleton while remaining close to the more complex When The Deer Wore Blue. Figurines have managed to return to a point where the songs' structures, immediacy and extroversion are the focus. Pavement, Modest Mouse and Built To Spill were the early influences for Figurines (the boys) in their home town in rural Northern Denmark, where they were pretty much alonewith their interest in that sound. From there they dug backwards and out internalizing the canonized pop and rock music of the Western world. Today Figurines (the band) are skilled and experienced musicians, almost veterans although barely reaching the end oftheir 20's, but also still growing and refiguring and on Figurines (the album) they've found a way to polish their songwriting in new ways.

Pomegranates hail from Cincinnati, OH, where drummer Jacob Merritt, guitarist Isaac Karns, and vocalist/guitarist Joey Cook launched the pop-based indie rock band in 2006. Taking influence from early Modest Mouse and Wolf Parade, the musicians honed their craft and issued the Two Eyes EP in June 2007. Bassist Josh Kufeldt joined the following year, and Pomegranates released their full-length debut, Everything Is Alive, that May.

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Extra Arms is comprised of Dave Yang (vocals, guitars), Daniel Benjamin (drums), Matt Haar (guitars) and Max Kimbrel (bass). Initially formed under the name USVS, the band went through a period of lineup changes until in 2009, the lineup solidified and the band could focus on their voice and sound. After honing their repertoire and playing around NYC, the band began on their first full length album, due out this fall.

Sick of Sarah + Hunter Valentine + Vanity Theft

Sick Of Sarah began in Minneapolis, MN in April 2005 as an all-female band with catchy hooks, unique lyrics and thoughtful, well-crafted music. The band displays talent, passion, and an ever-present sense of humor that shapes many of their songs. They combine sympathetic acoustic moments with driving electric rock, often in the same song. With influences ranging from John Fogerty to Joan Jett, Sleater-Kinney to Vanessa Carlton, Sick Of Sarah brings an energy and blended alternative pop-rock style that has listeners singing along after the first chorus.

Blasting out their inimitable rock since the summer of 2004, Hunter Valentine has blossomed, establishing a devoted fan base via their self-financed eponymous 2005 EP and building on that foundation with their 2007 full-length The Impatient Romantic (True North Records). Razing crowds from coast to coast in their decrepit van, nailing select European and U.S. Cities over the course of 200-plus shows, the trio has garnered an international fan base as they build out of their native Canada. Hunter Valentine are now poised to break through with their gripping follow up Lessons From the Late Night.

The ladies of the Dayton, Ohio, indie-rock band Vanity Theft are young and pretty. Their songs-which sound somewhere between the work of Sleater-Kinney and the Ting Tings-are mostly about past romances. And when they talk, guitarist Brittany Hill, singer-keyboardist Alicia Grodecki, drummer Elyse Driskill, and bassist Lalaine Paras tend to giggle a lot. However, Lalaine, 23, would like to clarify one thing: "We may have vaginas, but we're not pussies."
