Composer Steve Marzullo will premier his song cycle "To Marz And Back" this Sunday, July 12th as part of The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concert series this summer.

The evening, directed by Joe Langworth (South Pacific, Next Fall), features musical compositions to the words of classic and contemporary poets (Langston Hughes, Dorothy Parker, Walt Whitman and more) as interpreted through five characters each yearning for and coming to accept unrealized personal goals.

The cast features Terri Klausner (Evita, Sophisticate Ladies), Kenita Miller (The Wild Party-Encores), Laura Pavles (2015 MAC Award nominee), George Psomas (South Pacific) and Rachel Ulanet (Beauty and the Beast, LoveMusik ). Marzullo will accompany them on the piano and will be joined by cellist Clay Ruede and guitarist Jeffrey Lee Campbell.

Marzullo's music has been recorded by Audra McDonald, Alysha Umphress, Aaron Lazar and others and can be heard on the albums, Show Some Beauty and Kiss Me While We Have the Chance. His Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include Ragtime, Once On This Island and Floyd Collins and he is currently the associate conductor of Mamma Mia.

The concert will be presented at the Theater 3, 311 West 43rd Street, 3rd floor, at 7pm.
