Opera got a whole lot racier with the opening of ANNA NICOLE at the Royal Opera House in London this past week.  Rumors are circulating that the production might spark a lawsuit from the late tabloid queen’s boyfriend Larry Birkhead, but the show hasn’t suffered, as all performances are sold out. Considered one of the greatest love stories ever told, the film classic DOCTOR ZHIVAGO has been reworked into a lavish new musical in Australia.  The show, which revolves around the Bolshevik Revolution, will launch an Australian tour after its eight week, world premiere engagement at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre. The classic Lerner and Loewe musical GIGI has been brought back to the stage at Los Angeles’ Reprise Theatre Company, featuring Broadway’s Matt Cavanaugh, West End’s Lisa O’Hare and more. In the UK, Sienna Miller, James Purefoy, and Sheridan Smith lead Terence Rattigan’s FLARE PATH at Theatre Royal Haymarket this spring. Still in rehearsals, the production begins previews March 4 and opens March 10. For more rehearsal images, click here.
