After an acclaimed workshop production at The Brick Theater last year, Dutch Kills will present the World Premiere of THE SISTER. This black comedy by Eric John Meyer will be directed by Jess Chayes. Previews begin March 21 at New York Theatre Workshop's 4th Street Theater. Opening is slated for March 28.

Living with Bob and Leanne, Colleen is known as THE SISTER. The role of The Sister is clear: take abuse, work the machine, and if she's really bad, wear the dog collar. A jet black comedy.

THE SISTER stars Jeb Kreager (four time Barrymore Award nominee and winner of Outstanding Lead Actor in 2008), Alley Scott, Levi Morger and Erin Mallon with set by Sara Walsh, lighting by Derek Wright, costumes by Deanna Frieman and sound by Asa Wember.

Eric John Meyer is a playwright based in New York. His plays, which include Not Winehouse, Down from Buffalo, and The Scavengers, have received productions at IRT, The Flea Theater, The Brick Theater, and The Bowery Poetry Club. Beyond New York, his work has been seen at the New Orleans Fringe Festival, the Mother Lodge Live Arts Exchange in Louisville, KY, and with the Nabokov Theater Company in the UK. He is a co-creator and performer with The Truck Project, which he established with his partner, Jean Ann Douglass. He holds an MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College.

Jess Chayes is a Brooklyn-based director and co-artistic director of The Assembly. Recent directing includes:The Netflix Plays (Ars Nova), Seized Up (CUNY, Studio Tisch),Salamander Leviathan (Ars Nova, Joe's Pub), HOME/SICK (The Assembly, NY Times and Backstage Critic's Pick), and #serials@theflea. She has developed work with The Culture Project, The Civilians, Mixed Phoenix, Extant Arts, The Shelby Company, P73, The Public Theater, The Working Theater, Old Vic/New Voices and Woodshed Collective. Jess is a member of the New Georges Kitchen Cabinet and a founding member of the Jam artists lab. She is currently the Associate Director on Peter and the Starcatcher, a member of The Civilians R&D Group and a member of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab.

A not-for-profit theater company based in New York City, Dutch Kills strives to produce quality theater in all of its facets, whether it is cabaret, puppetry, plays with music in them, music with plays in it, adaptations, new works, fresh classical theater, or (and especially) classically fresh theater.

THE SISTER runs March 21- April 13, Wednesday - Saturday at 7:30pm with an added show Sunday, March 24 at 7:30pm.
