THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE wass a funny and deeply moving new musical from the author of Beaches, about a Jewish grandmother struggling to share her legacy. Once the darling of Yiddish comedy theatre in 1930s Warsaw before her narrow escape to New York, Bubbie has had quite a life. But what will it all mean if she can't pass her stories to her daughter and granddaughter? A tale that spans three generations of women and dances playfully from New York to the Old World, THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE celebrates the importance of learning from our past, the strength we find in our families and the extraordinary power of laughter.

THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE began preview performances on Friday, April 1st, 2011 on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street) and opened officially on Thursday, April 28th, 2011.
