A new theatre festival is currently looking for submissions to be considered for their founding repertoire.

WHAT IS BROADWAY BOUND THEATRE FESTIVAL?

We are inviting submissions from all over the world to be considered by our panel of industry professionals as participants in our founding repertoire. 2017 will mark the launch of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival (BBTF), a new NYC-based festival in which 'Playwrights Take Center Stage.' BBTF is the only curated theatre festival dedicated to transforming playwrights into producers.

WHY SUBMIT?

BBTF is not a competition that pits playwright-against-playwright, but a community-building, joyous celebration of staged theatre. Once accepted into the festival, you become part of something much bigger than just yourself and your play.

Our intent is to create an environment of support from the festival staff and collaboration between our playwrights, nurturing them as a whole as well as individuals, and fostering the creation of friendships and working relationships. We want to help you to move one step closer to creating commercially viable theatre works.

In that spirit, BBFT does not take a percentage of your future revenues. In other words, we do not require you to contribute a percentage of your gross revenues for future performances for seven years after the festival is over, as is the norm with other theatre festivals. Nor does the festival ask for Producer Points. Your work is yours. We're simply here to support.

FESTIVAL DATES:

MONDAY, JULY 31 - SUNDAY, AUG. 20, 2017

The Theater at 14th St. Y | 344 E. 14th St., New York, NY 10003

APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2017
