In conjunction with two June productions of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the State Theatre Center for the Arts will be collecting "Books for Belle" with the donated books staying in the local community at the Easton Area Public Library.

Patrons can bring books to the State Theatre Box Office and receive a five dollar discount off the ticket price to see Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the State Theatre in June. The discount is good for up to four tickets and is limited to one per household.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast will be performed at the State Theatre on Tuesday, June 3rd and Wednesday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $55 & $50 and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610.252.3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. The show is sponsored by the Brown Daub-Dealerships and 100.7 WLEV and is part of The Family Series sponsored by Capital BlueCross.

The Easton Area Public Library was formed as the Easton Library Company in 1811. Its current location on Church Street in Easton was completed in 1903 with numerous additions and expansions in subsequent years. This building was made possible by a grant from Andrew Carnegie and is one of 59 public libraries in Pennsylvania that was built using grants from the Carnegie Corporation. Branches in Palmer Township and South Side Easton have allowed the Easton Area Public Library to better serve the community.
