CLIP: Life After Warren Jeffs- How the FLDS Community Moved Forward

About the Episode:

In this special one-hour interview, Oprah sits down for a riveting follow up with Willie Jessop, the former spokesperson of the breakaway Mormon sect, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Back in 2009, Jessop allowed the 'Oprah' show cameras unprecedented access to the church's Yearning for Zion ranch (YFZ) in Texas, which had been under intense media scrutiny after it was raided by state and federal authorities on charges that underage girls were being sexually abused on the compound.

At the time, Jessop adamantly denied all charges and fiercely defended FLDS leader Warren Jeffs who was in jail and accused of sexually molesting underage girls who he forced into marriage. Two years after Oprah's visit to the YFZ, Jessop underwent a dramatic change of heart after discovering shocking evidence of Jeffs forcing underage girls into group sex. Warren Jeffs is currently serving a life sentence for charges related to sexual abuse of two minors. In this revelatory hour, Jessop opens up about what he calls his "catastrophic crisis of faith" and what he is doing now to help his community recover and restore their lives.

"Oprah: Where Are They Now?" is executive produced by Harpo Studios' Jill Van Lokeren, Julie Simpson and Veronica Votypka.
