Sixteen of the Boston area's most dynamic young women have been selected to be contestants in the Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge Pageant on February 10, 2013 at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston, MA. These women will compete for over $8,000 in scholarships and prizes and to be crowned either Miss Boston or Miss Cambridge.

Contestants will take part in five phases of competition, including talent, interview, physical fitness, evening gown and on-stage interview. During the pageant, each contestant will also discuss her chosen platform, a social or community issue of concern to herself and our society at large.

During their year of service, both Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge will travel across Greater Boston, speaking to government officials, business leaders, and community groups about their platform issue. Both Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge will compete for the title of Miss Massachusetts in June 2013. The Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge Pageant is an official Miss America preliminary.

The winners of Miss Boston and Miss Cambridge will be awarded over $8,000 in scholarships and prizes to fund their college or graduate school education. Awards also include scholarships to the Dale Carnegie Training Center and John Robert Powers Modeling, a Boston Sports Club membership, Zoom Teeth Whitening by Walker Dental, LA Colors makeup, a photography session provided by the official Miss Boston photographer, Peter Rufo and a year of Hint Water.

"We're excited to expand our organization and offer the title of Miss Cambridge this year. She will not only serve as a representative for the City of Cambridge but compete side by side with Miss Boston for the title of Miss Massachusetts," said Stephanie Janes, executive director of the Miss Boston Organization. "Once again, we are honored to have a group of smart women who are impressive with their variety of backgrounds, interests, talents and passion for community service."
