Shirley Bassey to Make Rare Appearance at amFAR's Inspiration Gala

In a rare appearance, legendary singer Shirley Bassey will perform at amFAR's Inspiration Gala on Oct. 29 in Los Angeles, according to Variety . The event, honoring Tom Ford, will be held at Hollywood's Milk Studios. Gwyneth Paltrow will serve as host.

Other A-list celebs expeccted at the black-tie event include Sharon Stone, Matt Bomer, Courteney Cox, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. amFAR began in 2010 in an effort to raise funds for AIDS research. Thus far it has raised $16 million.

Last seen on Broadway in a one-woman show at the Marquis Theatre in 1996, Bassey most recently appeared in New York in a 2010 Carnegie Hall concert to benefit the Rainforest Foundation Fund. At the 2013 Academy Awards, she brought the live audience to its feet with a stunning medley of best-known James Bond songs.
