Rooftop Films has added both Little Men and Author: The JT LeRoy Story to the 20th Annual Summer Series. The Rooftop Films Summer Series takes place from May 20th-August 20th in various locations across New York City.

Rising rents & family ties collide in Ira Sachs' (Keep the Lights On) Little Men, which tells the story of two families in a changing south Brooklyn. Jeff Feuerzeig's (The Devil and Daniel Johnston) Author recounts the rise and fall of former punk rocker Laura Albert's alterego JT LeRoy. The films will be shown on Friday, July 15th and Thursday, August 18th respectively. Both events will take place at Industry City, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and will include live music and an after-party sponsored by Stella Artois.

Rooftop Films is also happy to announce that Tribeca Shortlist, the premium subscription video on demand service for film lovers featuring an expertly curated collection of critically acclaimed movies, will be the exclusive video subscription sponsor of the 20th Annual Summer Series. ABOUT THE FILMS

LITTLE MEN (Ira Sachs)
When Jake's grandfather dies, his family moves into his father's old Brooklyn home. There, Jake befriends the charismatic Tony, whose single mother runs the shop downstairs. Soon, Jake's parents Brian (Greg Kinnear) and Kathy (Jennifer Ehle) -- one, a struggling actor, the other, a psychotherapist -- ask Leonor to sign a new, steeper lease on her store. For Leonor, the proposed rent is untenable, and a feud ignites between the adults. At first, Jake and Tony don't seem to notice; the two boys, so different on the surface, begin to develop a formative kinship as they discover the pleasures of being young in Brooklyn. But the children can't avoid the problems of their parents and the conflict intrudes upon the borders of their friendship. Directed by Ira Sachs with his trademark humanism and insight, Little Men highlights the NYC landscape with a story of life-defining friendships in the midst of familial turmoil. Presented in Partnership with Magnolia Pictures.

AUTHOR: THE JT LEROY STORY (Jeff Feuerzeig)
New York magazine sent shockwaves through the literary world when it unmasked "it boy" wunderkind JT LeRoy, whose tough prose about his sordid childhood had captivated icons and luminaries internationally. LeRoy didn't actually exist. He was dreamed up by 40-year-old former punk rocker and phone sex operator, Laura Albert. Author: The JT LeRoy Story takes us down the infinitely fascinating rabbit hole of how Laura-like a Cyrano de Bergerac on steroids-breathed not only words, but life, into her avatar for a decade. Albert's epic and entertaining account plunges us into a glittery world of rock shows, fashion events, and the Cannes red carpet where LeRoy becomes a sensation. As she recounts this astonishing odyssey, Albert also reveals the intricate web spun by irrepressible creative forces within her. Her extended and layered performance still infuriates many; but for Albert, channeling her brilliant fiction through another identity was the only possible path to self-expression. Presented in Partnership with Amazon Studios and Magnolia Pictures
