Rita Wilson on FISH IN THE DARK Return: 'So Happy to Be Back on Bway'

Last night, actress Rita Wilson made her triumphant return to the hit Broadway comedy Fish In the Dark, following a one month medical leave. In April, the actress revealed the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

Yesterday, the 58-year-old took to Twitter to share her excitement over being back on stage, posting: "@FishInTheDark So happy to be back on Bway with my theater family tonight!" BWW is thrilled to welcome Wilson back to the Great White Way!

Wilson returned to her role as 'Brenda' in the production. Actress Glenne Headly took on the role during Wilson's medical leave. The actress made her Broadway debut as Roxie in Chicago. Other theatre credits: Dinner with Friends and the world premieres ofDistracted and Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Film credits include Sleepless in Seattle, It's Complicated, RUNAWAY Bride, and, forthcoming in 2015, Dawn Patrol and Brother-in-Laws.

Television appearances include recurring roles on both "Girls" and "The Good Wife," as well as the upcoming DIRECTV series "Full Circle." She also appeared in the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episode "The Doll." As a film producer, her first production, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, was a record-breaking hit, and she was the driving force behind the film of the musical Mamma Mia!. A singer/songwriter, Rita released her critically acclaimed debut albumAM/FM (Decca) in 2012, performed a recent series of sold-out shows at Café Carlyle, and released a new album of original songs in 2015.

FISH IN THE DARK, the new comedy written by and starring Larry David, is running for an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, June 7 at the Cort Theatre. The comedy, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, also stars Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell, Ben Shenkman and Lewis J. Stadlen, heading a cast of 18.

The production has scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design byBrian MacDevitt, sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen, and original music by David Yazbek.
