Prolific British playwright Terence Rattigan adapted his own hit 1954 play, "Separate Tables," for the 1958 screen version which kicks off the month's Reel 13 offerings on October 5. The story of residents of a British seaside hotel stars Deborah Kerr, Burt Lancaster, Rita Hayworth, and in their Oscar-winning roles, David Niven and Wendy Hiller.

On October 19, the 1967 version of Frederick Knott's hit Broadway play, which had starred Lee Remick and Robert Duvall, airs with Audrey Hepburn in Remick's role of a blind woman menaced by three con-men in her New York apartment.

The great stage actress Julie Harris passed away on August 24. On October 12, in tribute to her, Reel 13 presents Elia Kazan's classic adaptation of John Steinbeck's "East of Eden," starring James Dean and Harris.

Every Saturday night beginning at 9 p.m., viewers can catch a Classic hosted by film historian Neal Gabler, followed by an Indie, hosted by Richard Peña. The evening concludes with a Short selected by visitors to Reel13.org who vote for their favorite of three shorts every week.
