The Broadway run of DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS would appear to be ending earlier than planned if Telecharge is any indication, the ticket service is now only selling seats for the production through May 24th, 2009.

There has been no official word of an early closing for the play at this time.

EuGene O'Neill's DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS, stars two-time Tony Award winner Brian Dennehy, stage and screen star Carla Gugino, and Tony nominee Pablo Schreiber, under the direction of Tony Award Winner Robert Falls.

DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS came to Broadway directly from its critically acclaimed run at Chicago's prestigious Goodman Theatre and was originally scheduled to run for a limited 12-week engagement at the ST. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).

Previews began April 14th, 2009 in preparation for Opening Night which took place on Monday, April 27th.

DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS also stars Boris McGiver and Daniel Stewart Sherman, and features designs by Walt Spangler (set design), Ana Kuzmanic (costume design), Michael Philippi (Lighting Design), and Richard Woodbury (Original Music and Sound Design).

DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS is produced by: Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Steve Traxler, Bat-Barry Productions, Ronald Frankel, Norton Herrick, Judith Resnick, Daryl Roth, The Weinstein Company, Scott Delman/Alan D. Marks, Mort Swinsky/Michael Fuchs, Mark Johannes & Amy Danis/Jack Thomas, Morris Berchard/Eric Falkenstein, in association with Terri & Timothy Childs, Jam Theatricals, Jamie deRoy, and Jujamcyn Theaters.
