Pride Films and Plays Adds 4/27 'SONGS' Performance

Pride Films and Plays has announced that an extra performance of the hit musical Songs From An Unmade Bed has been added for Sunday, April 27 at 3:00. The final performance is still scheduled for that same day at 7:30.

Songs From An Unmade Bed has gotten excellent reviews in Chicago for this two-person staging by Director/Choreographer Derek Van Barham, and Musical Director Robert Ollis. The cast features Jordan Phelps and Kevin Webb, with understudies Tommy Thurston and Jonas Davidow.

Songs From An Unmade Bed plays at the Apollo Studio Theater, 2540 N. Lincoln, on Thursdays through Sundays at 7:30 through April 27, with a special 3 pm performance added on April 27. Tickets are $25 on Thursday; $30 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Students and seniors: $5 off all performances. Tickets are at www.ticketmaster.com or 773 935 6100.

Songs from an Unmade Bed explores the experiences (romantic, sexual and otherwise) of two gay men living in the city. Lyricist Mark Campbell worked with eighteen composers (one per song) to create a unique musical revue, accompanied by piano and cello, with gorgeous songs that range from funny, poignant, melancholy and ultimately hopeful about life and love. The composers are Debra Barsha, Mark Bennett, Peter Foley, Jenny Giering, Peter Golub, Jake Heggie, Lance Horne, Stephen Hoffman, Gihieh Lee, Steven Lutvak, Steve Marzullo, Brendan Milburn, Chris Miller, Greg Pliska, Duncan Sheik, Kim D. Sherman, Jeffrey Stock, and Joseph Thalken.

Production designs are by Ashley Ann Woods (set), Raquel Adorno (costumes), Cat Wilson (lights), and Kallie Rolison & Derek Van Barham (Sound). Production Stage Manager is Anna Lafontant.
