Pierce, McDonald, Etc. Set for 'CBS2 at the Tonys' Special

WCBS TV, Channel 2 in New York, will celebrate the Broadway season and the Tony Awards this Sunday June 10 at 11 AM with a Tony Awards special called "CBS2 at the Tonys." 

Hosted by Dana Tyler, it will feature interviews with the stars and other backstage news on nominated shows including: Curtains (David Hyde Pierce and Debra Monk), Inherit the Wind (Christopher Plummer), 110 in the Shade (Audra McDonald and John Cullum) and Mary Poppins (Ashley Brown, Gavin Lee and Rebecca Luker).

Later on Sunday night, watch the Tony Awards at 8 PM EST on CBS nationally.

The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards are bestowed annually on theatre professionals for distinguished achievement. The Tony is one of the most coveted awards in the entertainment industry and the annual telecast is considered one of the most prestigious programs on television.   

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is Executive Director. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2007 Tony Awards.  Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2007 Tony Awards.
