As BroadwayWorld reported over the weekend, Maureen O'Hara, known for her roles in golden age Hollywood films such as MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET and THE PARENT TRAP and star of Broadway's CHRISTINE, died on October 24. She was 95.

The actress starred in Broadway's CHRISTINE, with book byPearl S. Buck and Charles Peck, Jr., music by Sammy Fainand lyrics by Paul Francis Webster, in 1960. She also went on to release two albums -- LOVE LETTERS FROM MAUREEN O'HARA and MAUREEN O'HARA SINGS HER FAVORITE IRISH SONGS.

O'Hara is best known for her films with director John Ford, including THE QUIET MAN opposite John Wayne and HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY, which won the 1941 Academy Award for Best Picture. She also graced the big screen in Ford's RIO GRANDE, THE LONG GRAY LINE and THE WINGS OF EAGLES. O'Hara later reunited with co-star Wayne in the 60s and 70s in the Westerns MCLINTOCK! and BIG JAKE.

Among her other silver screen credits are DANCE GIRL DANCE with Lucille Ball, Alfred Hitchcock's JAMAICA INN, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, THEY MET IN ARGENTINA, THE BLACK SWAN, THE FALLEN SPARROW, as well as several pirate films, including THE SPANISH MAIN, SINBAD THE SAILOR, AT SWORD'S POINT and AGAINST ALL FLAGS with Errol Flynn.

She also appeared in the film noir A WOMAN'S SECRET, with Alec Guinness in OUR MAN IN HAVANA, opposite Jimmy Stewart in MR. HOBBS TAKES A VACATION and THE RARE BREED, and with Henry Fonda in SPENCER'S MOUNTAIN.

After taking a break from Hollywood, she returned in 1991 for Chris Columbus's ONLY THE LONELY with John Candy.

O'Hara's autobiography, 'TIS HERSELF, was released in 2004. She received an Honorary Oscar in 2014.
