Photo Coverage: RENT Film Premieres at the Ziegfeld Theatre

The highly anticipated film version of Rent had its world premiere last night with a glitzy opening in New York City at the Ziegfeld Theatre. BroadwayWorld was there to bring you the celebrity filled red carpet. Rent opens nationwide on November 23rd.

Rent stars original cast members Adam Pascal as Roger, Idina Menzel as Maureen, Anthony Rapp as Mark, Taye Diggs as Benny, Wilson Jermaine Heredia as Angel, Jesse L. Martin as Tom, plus Rosario Dawson as Mimi and Tracie Thoms as Joanne. With music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson, Rent is directed by Chris Columbus (who adapted Larson's book with Stephen Chbosky); the film is a Columbia Pictures/Revolution Studios production and will be released by Sony Pictures.

Ben Strothmann Ben Strothmann has been a portrait and theatrical photographer since 1995. Since building his first darkroom in his hometown of Milwaukee WI, his portrait studio now looks out over Manhattan where he shoots headshots and production photos. Born to a famous cheesecake lady (Suzy Strothmann of Suzy's Cream Cheesecakes), Ben is also an actor and pianist. Currently he lives in Astoria and studies guitar and Icelandic.
