Joey Lawrence, who portrays Clay Dobson on the hit CBS series "CSI: NY," is making his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in the smash musical Chicago, which plays the Ambassador Theatre. Lawrence began performances on May 4th and will continue through June 17th.
Lawrence, who began his career appearing on national TV commercials at age 3, caught the eye of Johnny Carson who put him on his late night 'Tonight Show.' From there, he starred as Joey Russo on the NBC series "Blossom." Other TV appearances have included "Brotherly Love" and "American Dreams." Lawrence's film credits include Carl Reiner's Summer Rental, Chains of Gold, Radioland Murderers and Urban Legends as well as voicing the title character in the Disney film Oliver & Company. Along with his acting credits, he released the multi-platinum album "Joey Lawrence" in 1993, for which he embarked on a world tour. Audiences watched Lawrence dance their way into their living room on season 3 of the hit ABC "Dancing with the Stars," in which he placed second amongst all the contestants. In addition, he toured the U.S. and Canada in the show's national tour covering 42 cities in 8 weeks.
