Showbiz411 reports that singer and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul will be returning to judge FOX's So You Think You Can Dance for three weeks of semi finals and finals in September, alongside Nigel Lythgoe. Abdul was one of American Idol's original judges through season 8. Following her stint on the series, she starred in the shortlived CBS' TV series Live to Dance, then judged the first season of the U.S. version of THe X Factor, alongside former American Idol co-judge Simon Cowell.

In addition to her GRAMMY-winning musical career, Abdul is a noted choreographer. This January, she was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Carnival: Choreographer's Ball. She also worked as choreographer for the off-Broadway show Reefer Madness in 2001.

So You Think You Can Dance was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and is from 19 Entertainment, a division of Core Media Group, and Dick Clark productions, inc. The series is executive-produced by Fuller; Lythgoe; Barry Adelman, Executive Vice President of Dick Clark productions, inc.; and Allen Shapiro, CEO of Dick Clark productions, inc.
