Former school counselor and teacher B. J. Taylor encountered many children throughout her career who had trouble managing their anger. As a counselor, she learned common preventative techniques for controlling anger, which she shares in her new book, "Pig Wisdom: Anger Management" (published by Trafford Publishing), a useful tool for parents and teachers, and a fun story for children.

"I just tried to create situations to help children understand the preventative techniques more clearly," Taylor explains.

In "Pig Wisdom," Ms. Goose constantly irritates and heckles the other barnyard animals, causing them to lose their cool. Wise Mr. Pig teaches the animals constructive solutions for how to deal with their anger, instead of harming Ms. Goose.

"Various anger-arousing situations are presented and in the end the barnyard animals learn to manage their behavior, which makes them happier," Taylor writes. "Ms. Goose learns that her troublemaking causes her to lose friends and she becomes more tolerable."

At the end of "Pig Wisdom," Taylor reiterates the anger management techniques for memory application. She explains that her book could be useful to parents to help solve problems between brothers and sisters or to teachers who could make charts of the techniques and use them to remind children how to handle different circumstances.
