The Omaha Community Playhouse is announcing its Alternative Programming series for the 2015-16 season. Alternative Programming includes a series of staged readings, special events and play development collaborations. All events are held at OCP.

OCP's alternative programming schedule includes:

July 13, 2015 Detroit 67 by Dominique Morriseau (staged reading)

Aug. 17, 2015 Take Me Out by Richard Greenburg (staged reading)

Sept. 28, 2015 Civil War Voices written by James R. Harris, music by Mark Hayes (staged reading)

Oct. 19, 2015 The Mildred Project by Denise Chapman (From the Ground Up)

Nov. 9, 2015 A Steady Rain by Keith Huff (staged reading)

Dec. 7, 2015 New Voices (Special Event)

Jan. 25, 2016 Dogfight Music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Peter Duchan; Based on the Warner Bros. film and screenplay by Bob Comfort (staged reading)

Feb. 8, 2016 Treasure Island by Ken Ludwig (staged reading)

March 21, 2016 The Patchwork Play Project

Alternative Programming events are free and open to the public with an opportunity for donations. No tickets or reservations are necessary. Some events may be intended for mature audiences.

The Omaha Community Playhouse is supported in part by the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. Established in 1924, the Omaha Community Playhouse is the la rgest community theatre in the United States based on memberships sold and facility size, among other factors. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
