Nominations Open for 2010 BroadwayWorld Philadelphia Awards

BroadwayWorld, the largest theater site on the web, is announcing that it is launching a new set of theater awards for the Philadelphia theater community, to be presented in January 2011.

The awards will recognize excellence, as voted by the fans of Philadelphia theater, and will encompass all of the various forms and sizes of theater in the area, from tours to resident productions, large to small, play, musical, comedy shows, hotels attractions and revues. And BroadwayWorld's Philadelphia-based team will be directly involved in the administration of the awards process.

Awards will be given in 25 categories, and nominations are being solicited now .

Nominations will close on November 30, 2010, and the slate of nominations will be announced in. Online voting by fans will occur December 1 - January 3, 2011, and the winners will be announced in mid-January.

1.    Best Actress in a Musical or Revue (Resident Equity)
2.    Best Actor in a Musical or Revue (Resident Equity)
3.    Best Actress in a Musical or Revue (Resident Non-Equity)
4.    Best Actor in a Musical or Revue (Resident Non-Equity)
5.    Best Actress in a Play (Resident Equity)
6.    Best Actor in a Play (Resident Equity)
7.    Best Actress in a Play (Resident Non-Equity)
8.    Best Actor in a Play (Resident Non-Equity)
9.    Best Ensemble (Resident Equity)
10.  Best Ensemble (Resident Non-Equity)
11.  Best Direction of a Play (Resident Equity)
12.  Best Direction of a Play (Resident Non-Equity)
13.  Best Direction of a Musical (Resident Equity)
14.  Best Direction of a Musical (Resident Non-Equity)
15.  Best Scenic Design (Resident Equity)
16.  Best Scenic Design (Resident Non-Equity)
17.  Best Costume Design (Resident Equity)
18.  Best Costume Design (Resident Non-Equity)
19.  Best New Work/New Adaptation (Resident Equity
20.  Best New Work/New Adaptation (Resident Non-Equity)
21.  Best Overall Production of a Musical (Resident Equity)
22.  Best Overall Production of a Musical (Resident Non-Equity)

25.  Theatrical Company of the Year
