New York Singing Teachers Association Honors Victoria Clark at April 28 Gala

Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark will be honored at The New York Singing Teachers' Association, Inc.'s centennial anniversary gala on April 28th at the Kosziusko Foundation (15 E. 65th St.); the evening will last from 6 PM through 10 PM.

Opera soprano Aprile Millo will also appear at the gala, which will include singing teachers and coaches as well as professional singers, among others. Actor and voice teacher David Sabella-Mills will interview The Light in the Piazza star while director-writer Ira Siff (like Sabella-Mills, a member of the Singing Teachers' Association) will ask Millo, who is considered the Met's leading Verdi soprano, questions about her craft. Winners of the David Adams Song Competition will also perform art songs.

Clark won a Tony Award for her performance as Margaret, who learns to put more trust in fables, in The Light in the Piazza. The actress previously appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Cabaret, Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, A Grand Night for Singing and Guys and Dolls. She also appeared in the San Francisco concert version of Sweeney Todd, and film and TV credits include Cradle Will Rock, Anastasia and "Law and Order."
