Gotham Stage Company, the company that produced last season's critical hit, Sake with the Haiku Geisha, will present the New York premiere production of Eric Houston's heartfelt comedy Becoming Adele, directed by Victor Maog and starring Kimberly Stern (A Doll's Life).  The show will play The Clurman at Theatre Row December 15 - January 6 with opening night set for Wednesday, December 20.

Becoming Adele "follows the irrepressible Adele, a spunky Brooklyn waitress, as she tries to carve out a better future for herself and her daughter while learning to live each moment to the fullest as she becomes the Adele she was meant to be," state press materials.

The play was originally presented to acclaim in Los Angeles at The Court Theatre.  The show will feature: Scenic Design by Antje Ellermann, Costume Design by Myrna Colley-Lee, Sound Design by Elizabeth Rhode, and Lighting Design by Lucas Benjaminh Krech.

"Gotham Stage Company was formed in 2005 as a not-for-profit theater. Founded by Michael Barra, Peter Smith, Julia Haubner Smith, and Katie Dietz, GSC was created to allow the founders, and their contemporaries, the opportunity to gain and share experiences, hone their crafts, display their wares, and to produce and perform the types of work that they found lacking in the commercial theatre."

Tickets are $35-$45 and are available via TicketCentral at www.ticketcentral.com or by calling (212) 279-4200.
