FXX has ordered its first original series, Chozen, an animated comedy from the creative teams behind Eastbound & Down and Archer, it was announced today by Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions.

Chozen is an animated comedy about a gay white rapper fresh out of prison with a new message and new skills, which he will use in his quest for redemption and domination. Grant Dekernion serves as writer and executive producer, and he will also be writing and rapping the songs. Danny McBride, Jody Hill and David Gordon Green from Rough House Pictures (Eastbound & Down) are Executive Producers. Adam Reed and Matt Thompson of Floyd County Productions (Archer) are Executive Producers and their company will animate the series. The series is produced by FX Productions.

"It's great to be in business with Grant, Danny, Jody, David and Rough House and this is the perfect first series order for FXX," said Grad. "Chozen is an outrageous and ballsy comedy, but it's also a very smart examination of the rap culture."

Characters will be voiced by Dekernion, Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live), Hannibal Buress (Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell), Michael Pena (Gangster Squad), Nick Swardson (Parks and Recreation), Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down), Kathryn Hahn (Anchorman), and Method Man (The Sitter).

FXX is the new basic cable entertainment network launching on September 2, 2013. Geared toward a young adult audience, the schedule will feature original series, movies, and acquired series. The channel will be anchored by the acclaimed hit comedies It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Legit, Chozen, and the critically acclaimed latenight strip, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. At launch, FXX will be carried in more than 72 million homes. FXX and its sister channels FX and FXM comprise FX Networks, a business unit of FOX Networks Group.
