Author Georgina Prasad combines love, loss, loyalty, and lasting impressions in her newly released book, 'The Mango Man and Other Stories'. The volume contains four short stories encompassing three generations and four countries over three continents. While the names, places and cultural contexts the characters find themselves in may seem foreign to some readers, the stories remain accessible to all, as they reflect the suffering and beauty of the human experience.

The first story introduces a man who seeks his long-lost ancestor on another continent with only a mysterious item to guide him. The second story brings the reader into the drama of a young couple in love struggling with obedience to their respective family's wishes. The penultimate story features a woman who lives through the partitioning of India amidst one of the greatest genocidal massacres in history. And the final touching story introduces a peasant worker who makes a lasting impression on a boy with big dreams.

The richly developed characters in each of the stories convey a range of human emotion: sadness, tragedy, and anguish certainly, but also hope, love, and dreams. An engaging read, the reader is invited to relate to any part of the story since the themes are universal. The collection is enhanced by unexpected surprises that add an entertaining twist.

"This book," says Prasad, "is an outlet for creative ideas I had at different points over the years. I wanted to bring these characters to life for others to experience. And so I've put them into a collection to let them share their tales from their respective corners of the world."

The author offers that if the stories resonate with readers as strongly as they have with early reviewers, she "may be encouraged to write more short stories, or even a full-length novel."

'The Mango Man and Other Stories' is published exclusively in eBook format by eBookIt.com and is now available from popular online retailers, including Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, and Apple's iBookstore.
