National Asian Artists Project presents a fully staged reading of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL tonight, June 4th at 7:30pm. This one-night only benefit takes place at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42nd Street at 9th Ave in New York City. Directed by Baayork Lee (Broadway's A Chorus Line), the performance features an all Asian-American cast of professionals.

The cast includes Ali Ewoldt (Carrie Pipperidge), Steven Eng (Enoch Snow), Kylie Liya Goldstein (Louise), MaryAnn Hu (Mrs. Mullins), Devin Ilaw (Billy Bigelow ), Helen Park (Nettie Fowler), Diane Phelan (Julie Jordan), David Shih (Bascombe), Viet Vo (Jigger), Alison Lea Bender, Lynn Craig, Chris Ignacio, Brian Jose, Brian Kim, Whitney Kam Lee, Rebecca Lee Lerman, Kathleen Lynch, Shoba Narayanan and Kevin Schuering. 

The team also includes musical direction by Kevin Farrell, costumes by Jimm Halliday, and Associate Producers, N+N Productions, Nikole Vallins and Natalie Malotke. 

Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL takes place in a Maine coastal village toward the end of the 19th century. The carnival barker Billy Bigelow captivates and marries the millworker Julie Jordan, and both struggle to adapt to their new lives. Suddenly faced with the unexpected prospect of becoming a father, Billy attempts to provide for his family with unfortunate consequences. Considered by many as one of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical masterpieces, CAROUSEL entertains as well as challenges audiences through humor, tragedy, and uplifting redemption.
