My French Film Festival Makes U.S. Theatrical Debut in Select Cities Today

SpectiCast, in partnership with uniFrance Films, proudly presents the 4th global edition of My French Film Festival based on the popular international online French screening series MyFrenchFilmFestival.com. Acclaimed French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, serves as president for My French Film Festival's 4th worldwide edition in which theatrical screenings will be shown in the United States for the first time, bringing the love of French film and an arsenal of talented young French actors and filmmakers to American audiences.

Participating United States theatres will be able to screen from the list of the following seven titles, Mobile Home, Marriage à Mendoza, J'enrage de Son Absence, Pauline Detective, Comme un Lion, Au Galop, and La Fille du 14 Juillet.

The seven films were specially selected to reveal the diverse range of stories - from comedy to drama, personal to political, realistic to romantic - for which the online festival has become renown. The theatrical program will feature some of the world's best new generation of French directors as well as highlight some of France's most promising contemporary talent. All films will be presented with English Subtitles.

Maddened by His Absence ("J'enrage de son absence")

After ten years, Jacques comes back to France to handle his father's succession. He had left France to live in the USA to escape a painful past he shared with Mado, his former wife, who in the meantime, built a new life with Stéphane and their 7 year old son, Paul. Upon his return, Jacques and Mado meet again; he asks to meet her son Paul; Mado hesitates, then accepts but hides it from her husband. Soon, Paul and Jacques get close and they start to see each other secretly.

Mobile Home

After having broken up with his girlfriend and left his job, Simon has come back to his small hometown in the countryside, where he meets up again with his old friend Julien. They buy a huge motor-home, but the trip is delayed by various troubles, and they decide to start their journey right where they are. Through this first motionless stage of their trip, Simon and Julien are confronted with themselves and what they wanted to run away from.

Welcome to Argentina ("Mariage à Mendoza")

Marcus and his brother Antoine head to Argentina for their cousin's wedding. They plan to explore all that Buenos Aires has to offer before making the trip to Mendoza in the west. Marcus is thrilled to be On the Road and determined to have fun, while Antoine is depressed after being dumped by his wife, who refused to come with them at the last minute. Marcus will do anything it takes to cheer up his little brother. After a very caliente evening in the capital, they hit the road, discovering Argentina vineyard's and making unlikely encounters - with a crackpot receptionist, a divine beauty, a pregnant ewe, and a guy afflicted by Stendhal syndrome - until, at the end of their journey, the two brothers find peace.

Pauline Detective

After being dumped by her boyfriend, Pauline lets herself be dragged along by her sister to a luxurious hotel on the Italian riviera. Instead of indulging in the pleasures of lounging around and doing nothing, Pauline convinces herself that a crime has been committed in the hotel and starts playing at being detective, carting along a seductive lifeguard with her into her investigations.

Little Lion ("Comme un lion")

His family chips in and puts itself into debt to help him. Once in Paris, everything collapses: Mitri finds himself abandoned, without a dime in his pocket, and unable to imagine dealing with the shame should he return to his village. An odyssey which will require all his resourcefulness hence begins. But his football dream will soon catch up with him...

Ada was settled in her life, she was pleased with it, or thought she was. She was one half of a couple who seemed happy, she'd had a child, was even due to get married, and then she met Pau. And this Paul was a writer who lived alone with his grown daughter, had an exceedingly intrusive mother, and had the unfortunate idea of losing his father when this story had hardly got off the ground... Life started to gather speed. It was about time.

The July 14 Girl ("La fille du 14 juillet")

Since Hector encountered Truquette at the Louvre on July 14, he's had only one thing in mind: to seduce this girl who he's mad about. The best way to do so is to take her to the seaside. His pal Pator agrees wholeheartedly, particularly if she comes along with her friend Charlotte... Accompanied by unavoidable Bertier, off they go, down France's back roads, where there is no money in the banks. That's normal, because there's an economic crisis on. France has to get back to work and so, right in the middle of summer, the government decides to cut short the national vacation period by a month. A complete shake-up and a few wads of cash later, the group breaks up like France cut in two, between jealous July-ites and August-ians. But going against the work flow doesn't frighten the remaining trio, well and truly determined to find the July 14 Girl and to enjoy a wild summer.
