Crossword puzzles can be easily found in newspapers and there are books filled with page after page of these particularly fun and diverting mental challenges. But this pleasurable past-time can quickly turn frustrating if one were to get stuck in looking for just the right word to fit the meaning and required number of characters to solve one of its segments.

As author Murali Mohan Hundigam noted, there is no tool available for solving the clues and finding the correct word. It takes too long to wade through the dictionary and thesaurus for the answers, and sometimes, they just do not have the required scope to handle the more challenging crossword puzzles. After over two decades of effort, Hundigam presents the "Crossword Puzzle Dictionary" (published by Xlibris), which he specifically designed to aid in solving these puzzles in a more convenient and timely manner as it addresses those cases when one knows the meaning, but not the correct word. It is effectively a sort of reverse dictionary, but not a thesaurus.

"In society, a certain percentage of people are keen solvers of puzzles. This book forms a key tool for them," said Hindigam. "There are hardly any books on this subject at present and may be two or three books available of this kind. But my book certainly has an edge over those as it contains many correct words for almost all clues. With this book, the solver can solve 95% of the puzzle."
