The art of tango has captivated the world with its sexuality, power and beauty for centuries, and M¡longa is a fascinating exploration of this traditional dance from a contemporary perspective.

M¡longa sees one of Europe's most exciting contemporary choreographers, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, bring his renowned take on tango to the Arts Centre Melbourne. Known for his ability to translate emotion into dance, Cherkaoui's skills have seen him hailed as one of the most visionary choreographers in dance today.

With an incredibly talented cast of fifteen Argentinean dancers and live musicians, M¡longa draws on Argentinian influences whilst also infusing aspects of the 21st century into the movement.

With guidance from tango superstar Nelida Rodriguez de Aure, M¡longa combines the sensuality of tango with the cutting edge of contemporary dance, resulting in a stylish masterpiece. Performed in the expansive State Theatre, M¡longa takes the idea of social dance events held in intimate late night bars and amplifies it tenfold.

M¡longa is produced by Sadler's Wells, London's premier dance venue, home also to other international stars of contemporary dance Akram Khan, Matthew Bourne, Wayne McGregor, Hofesh Shechter and many others.

Lust made tangible. Movement breaking boundaries. Don't miss the magic of M!longa.
