In a new interview with PEOPLE, Broadway's Megan Hilty reveals that she recorded a special song on her new album "A Merry Little Christmas" for her 2-year-old daughter Viola Philomena.

"My daughter's obsessed with Christmas movies - very specifically the Rankin/Bass movies. You know, those stop-motions like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town, Frosty the Snowman," the Tony nominee explains. "So we put a song on the record for her from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and every time she hears it, she stops whatever she's doing and runs over and just stares at the computer or the speakers or wherever we're playing it from."

Hilty recently said of her new holiday album, "To me, Christmas is about family, friends, food and music. This album celebrates all of these things through the nostalgic Christmas songs I grew up with. The album was recorded live at the famous Carriage House in Stamford, CT. I wanted to record it live to give it that old-school feeling, so that the listener would feel as if they were hearing it in-person at one of my concerts."
