A round table discussion on the new Kander and Ebb musical The Scottsboro Boys, directed by Susan Stroman. The musical, now at New York's Vineyard Theater, is based on the tragic
1930's case in Alabama where 9 young black men were imprisoned, some for the rest of their lives, for a crime they didn't commit. Our panel includes composer John Kander (Fred Ebb died in 2004 while working on this musical), director Stroman, and two actors appearing in the
production, Colman Domingo and Brandon Victor Dixon. Dixon performs one of the numbers from the show's beautiful score. (Uplink available March 18.)

Waking SLEEPING BEAUTY

Guests producer Peter Schneider and writer/reporter Patrick Pacheco
come by to discuss their new documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty.
The film tells the story of the phoenix-like rise of the Walt Disney
Animation Studios in the late 1980's and the company's corporate egos
(Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Roy Disney, and Schneider himself)
that almost sent it crashing back to earth. (Uplink available March
25.)

Theater Talk, the series devoted to the world of the stage, is co-hosted by Michael Riedel, Broadway columnist for the New York Post, and series executive producer Susan Haskins. The popular series is now being distributed nationally to PBS member stations by Executive Program Services (EPS). The series is co-produced by Theater Talk Productions, a not-for-profit corporation, and CUNY TV (City University of New York Television).
