The New York Casting Society of America (CSA) will present two-time Tony Award-winning director Joe Mantello (Assassins, Take Me Out) with their Annual "Apple Award" for his significant contribution to the New York Theatre community on Tuesday, November, 1.  In addition to the Apple Award, CSA's New York Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Casting will be presented during the 21st Annual CSA Awards ceremony, hosted by Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray), at the American Airlines Theatre - Penthouse Lobby (227 West 42nd Street, NYC), beginning at 4:30pm.  In Los Angeles, the CSA Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.  

Celebrities presenting New York Artios Awards include:  Christina Applegate (Sweet Charity, "Married With Children"); Mario Cantone (Assassins, Laugh Whore); Brad Garrett (The Odd Couple, "Everybody Loves Raymond"); Nathan Lane (The Odd Couple, The Producers); Idina Menzel (feature film Rent, See What I Wanna See, Wicked); Cynthia Nixon (MTC's Rabbit Hole, "Sex and the City"); Denis O'Hare (Sweet Charity, Assassins, Take Me Out); Sara Ramirez (Spamalot); Jason Ritter (Third,  "Joan of Arcadia"); Alan Ruck (Absurd Person Singular, "Spin City"); and from Daytime TV: Mandy Bruno (Marina on "Guiding Light"), Josh Casaubon (Hugh on "One Life to Live") and James Scott (Ethan on "All My Children").

Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Casting include: Feature & Independent Film; Television Mini-Series; Daytime, Dramatic & Comedic Television; Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional & West Coast Theatre; Animated Voice-Over TV.

Mantello's directing credits include: The Odd Couple, Glengarry Glen Ross, Assassins (Tony Award), Wicked, Take Me Out (Tony Award), Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, A Man of No Importance, Design for Living, Terrence McNally and Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking for the San Francisco Opera, The Vagina Monologues, Another American: Asking and Telling, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Proposals, The Mineola Twins, Corpus Christi, Mizlansky/Zilinsly or "Shmucks," Blue Window, God's Heart, The Santaland Diaries, Lillian, Snakebit, Three Hotels and Imagining Brad. Film: Love! Valour! Compassion!  His acting credits include Angels in America (Tony nomination) and The Baltimore Waltz. He is the recipient of Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, Helen Hayes, Clarence Derwent, Obie and Joe A. Callaway Awards. He is a member of Naked Angels and an associate artist at the Roundabout.
