The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is excited to announce that the Theatre received eight Carbonell nominations for its 2008 production The Full Monty, including Best Musical. Other nominations include Alan Souza for Best Director, Gavin Lodge for Best Actor, Mimi Hines for Best Supporting Actress, Helen Gregory for Best Musical Direction, Ron DeJesus for Best Choreography, Michael Philippi for Best Scenic Design and Donald Thomas for Best Lighting Design.

The 33rd Annual Carbonell Awards recognizes excellence in regional theater in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The ceremony will be held at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on April 6, 2009.

"We are thrilled to have received eight nominations on just one show!" says Andrew Kato, Artistic Director of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Due to guidelines set by the Carbonells' committee requiring a three-week run, the great work of the actors, directors and designers of Master Class, Noises Off and Sleuth were not included in the review process.

Last year the Theatre qualified for two shows that received twenty-one Carbonell nominations and six awards. Man of La Mancha received Best Musical, Best Director of a musical and Best Lighting, while The Boy Friend was awarded for Best Choreography, Best Scenic Design and Best Costume Design.

The Theatre's 2009/2010 season begins with a World Premiere, Fanny Brice: The Real Funny Girl, November 10 - 22, Lost In Yonkers, December 1 - 13, La Cage aux Folles, January 12 - 31, Tintypes, February 9 - 28 and Anything Goes, March 9 - 28.
