Epic Theatre Company is excited to announce the integration of local music into Epic's 2015 - 2016 Season. The theater has been working with local musician Jenny White to curate a pairing of music and theater that will bring the sounds of Rhode Island's diverse music community to the Epic stage.

"The idea was to feature a different Rhode Island musician in each production," said Artistic Director Kevin Broccoli, "Epic likes to showcase the immense talent we have in the Rhode Island theater community, but there are just as many incredible artists in the music community, who make up a wide and contrasting pool of talent we've yet to tap into at our theater, but we're excited to change all that."

Each show in the season will be paired with singers or bands that best exemplify the overall tone or mood of the show.

"Jenny and I have been talking all summer about this, and we're so proud to kick things off with the first show of our season "These Ruthless Bitches" featuring the music of Cat Has Claws."

Cat Has Claws is an indie synth rock trio from Providence, RI. The band is co-fronted by all three members: Julie Bozek on Guitar/Vocals, Buck St. Thomas on Drums/Vocals, and Matt Hebert on Keyboards/Vocals. With all members sharing the lead, CAT HAS CLAWS have built a unique style that is diverse yet unified. Stylistic influences range from indie/alt rock, to hip-hop, to electronic/synth pop. "Not only is their music fantastic, but a show about backstabbing vixens featuring songs from a band named Cat Has Claws is near perfection."

Epic will be announcing other musicians and artists as the season goes on.

Broccoli says, "Plan on joining us in September for "These Ruthless Bitches" and not only will you see some great local theater, but you'll be hearing some great local music as well."
