The West End transfer of the Menier Chocolate Factory revival of Little Shop of Horrors begins previews March 6, and will officially open at London's Duke of York's Theatre March 12.

The transfer of Matthew White's production features Alistair McGowan taking over from Jasper Brittain as the sadistic dentist, supported by Sheridan Smith (Open Air Theatre's Taming of the Shrew and Midsummer Night's Dream) and Paul Keating (Tommy, Don Carlos, Closer to Heaven). But the star of the show may be Audrey II (voiced by Mike McShane), the singing, dancing, carnivorous plant who gets progressively bigger throughout the show until it dominates the stage, thanks to designer David Farley, animatronic pioneers ARTEM and puppeteer Andy Heath.

The 1982 Alan Menken-Howard Ashman musical, based on Roger Corman's 1960 cult classic movie, indulges in spoof and horror with exotic characters and an unpredictable storyline.
