Harmony arises in the union of two complementary halves. Like a yin and yang, Kito & Reija Lee attain that sort of sonic synchronization within their music. The convergence point between Reija's background of fronting bands and writing songs and Kito's electronic and hip-hop production talents makes for a distinct aural combination. It's soothing, serene and soaring as they merge a myriad of influences into divine electro-pop for their new single "Starting Line," due out today, March 18 on Payday/Ultra Music.

The track made its debut this past Friday on EARMILK and can now be heard at: https://soundcloud.com/kitoreijalee/kito-reija-lee-starting-line-1

"Starting Line" delicately merges sparkling synths and Reija's impressive vocalization, coming to life hypnotically. "It's a special song for us," says Kito. "Reija quit her day job last year. From there on out, this group was it. We got a studio together, and we've been working towards this. In some strange way, it feels like our very first single."

"The lyrics were personal," adds Reija. "It's about the nerves that come along with taking a risk. I left my uni degree and my home in Australia to move to London and pursue my dream. It was a big change of lifestyle for me, and the song tells that story."

The Perth Australia-born and London-based duo creatively blossomed in 2009 when they summoned the shimmering soul of their breakout "LFO" for Skream's label Disfigured Dubz. Capturing Diplo's eye, the Mad Decent founder released their 2011 debut EP, Sweet Talk. Its eponymous single became a worldwide phenomenon, moving over 100,000 digital downloads in North America, topping the iTunes Electronic Music Songs chart, serving as the basis for Trinidad James's hit "Females Welcomed" and serving as the soundtrack for Victoria's Secrets Spring Summer 2013 national TV ad campaign.
