According to Fox News, Oscar-nominated actor Leonardo DiCaprio is considering making his Broadway debut this fall in a revival of the David Rabe drama The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel.

"But timing is everything: DiCaprio would have to roll into Pavlo Hummel straight from filming Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet, directed by the actress' husband, Sam Mendes," according to the article.  The play focuses on an American soldier stationed in Vietnam who has an African-American alter ego named Ardell.

A play by the author of Hurlyburly and Streamers, The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel opened at the Longacre Theatre on April 24, 1977 and ran for 117 performances.  Al Pacino won a Tony Award for originating the role of Pavlo Hummel.

DiCaprio is a three-time Oscar-nominee for his work in Blood Diamond, The Aviator and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.  Other film credits include The Departed, Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, and perhaps most famously, Titanic.

The article also states that Pacino, James Bond star Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman are also interested in performing on Broadway next season, with Craig and Kidman searching for a production in which to star together.
