As part of the New York International Fringe Festival, Lee J. Kaplan brings his powerful solo show BULLY to NYC at The Steve & Marie Sgouros Theatre(115 MacDougal Street, formerly The Players Theatre Loft) beginning today, August 10 to August 21. Inspired by entries in Lee's sixth-grade journal, in the multi-character play he returns to the scene of the crime for the fight of his life, calling to the ring those who subjected him to unrelenting bullying attacks.

At FringeNYC the show will also be a part of FringeHIGH, a collection of boundary-stretching plays guaranteed to captivate and entertain NYC teens. Written by and starring Lee J. Kaplan, the production features direction from Broadway and Off-Broadway's Padraic Lillis (Flight at DR2 Theater, Assistant to the Director on the Tony-winning revival ofShe Loves Me). BULLY is also currently finishing a run at the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, DC.

An emotional journey about finding the strength and the will to confront bullies from the past and from present-day, Lee J. Kaplan's moving and insightful show offers a glimpse into what it was like to endure bullying as a child, also shedding light on how carrying it into adulthood can have long-term effects on an individual. From his fellow students to teachers, coaches, his family and more, Kaplan explores the many moments and people who affected his life to create a moving story about growing up and dealing with the demons of the past.
