LES MIS Director Tom Hooper Among Honorees for 19th Annual Hollywood Film Awards

Dick clark productions announced today that Academy Award-winning director Tom Hooper will be honored with the "Hollywood Director Award," for "The Danish Girl"; Academy Award-winning actor Benicio Del Toro will receive the "Hollywood Supporting Actor Award," for "Sicario"; Academy Award-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan will receive the "New Hollywood Award" for "Brooklyn"; the Swedish actress Alicia Vikander will receive the "Hollywood Breakout Actress Award," for "The Danish Girl"; and the principal cast of the box-office smash "Straight Outta Compton," Corey Hawkins, O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell will be honored with the "Hollywood Breakout Ensemble Award." The "19(th) Annual Hollywood Film Awards" will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, on November 1, 2015. The Hollywood Film Awards, the official launch of the awards season®, has recognized excellence in THE ART OF cinema and filmmaking for 18 years, honoring some of the world's biggest stars. Honorees have gone on to garner many Oscar nominations and wins.

Hooper will be recognized for his work on Focus Feature's "The Danish Girl," starring Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander. The film takes place around the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe (Redmayne) and Gerda Wegener (Vikander). Vikander also starred in this year's extremely successful "Ex Machina" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer.

Del Toro will receive the "Hollywood Supporting Actor Award" for his work in Lionsgate's "Sicario," also starring Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin. Del Toro has earned critical accolades throughout his career, winning an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Steven Soderbergh's "Traffic" as well as an Oscar® nomination for his work in Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu's "21 Grams."

"New Hollywood Award" recipient Saoirse Ronan will be recognized this year for her performance in FOX Searchlight's "Brooklyn." Ronan portrays a young woman in the 1950's, choosing her fate between her home country or a new life.

In addition to starring in Hooper's acclaimed film "The Danish Girl," "Hollywood Breakout Actress" Alicia Vikander also starred in this year's extremely successful "Ex Machina" and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" starring Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer.

The "Hollywood Breakout Ensemble Award" will be accepted by "Straight Outta Compton" cast members Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins and O'Shea Jackson Jr., who play the three founding members of the legendary hip hop group known as N.W.A. The film, based on the true story of one of rap's first music groups, had massive success this year at the box office and with critics.

It was previously announced that Robert De Niro will receive this year's "Hollywood Career Achievement Award," "Furious 7" will receive the "Hollywood Blockbuster Award," Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth will receive "Hollywood Song Award" for their hit "See You Again" off the "Furious 7" soundtrack, and Asif Kapadia will receive the "Hollywood Documentary Award" for "Amy." Other honorees include Janusz Kaminski ("Bridge of Spies") for "Hollywood Cinematography Award," Alexandre Desplat ("The Danish Girl," "Suffragette") for "Hollywood Film Composer Award," David Rosenbloom ("Black Mass") for "Hollywood Editing Award," Tim Alexander ("Jurassic World")for "Hollywood Visual Effects Award," Gary Rydstrom ("Bridge of Spies")for "Hollywood Sound Award," Sandy Powell ("Cinderella")for "Hollywood Costume Designer Award," Lelsey Vanderwalt ("Mad Max: Fury Road") for "Hollywood Make Up & Hair Styling Award," and Colin Gobson ("Mad Max: Fury Road") for "Hollywood Production Design Award." More honorees are set to be announced at a later date.

ABOUT TOM HOOPER
Tom Hooper won an Academy Award for directing "The King's Speech." The 2010 film also won the Best Picture, Best Actor (Colin Firth), and Best Original Screenplay Oscars. Mr. Hooper also won a Directors Guild of America Award for his direction. Mr. Hooper was recently again a Directors Guild of America Award nominee for directing Working Title Films "LES MISERABLES." The HBO Films/Channel 4 telefilm won three Golden Globe Awards and was nominated for five Emmy Awards. "John Adams," starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney, won four Golden Globes and 13 Emmy Awards, the most Emmys ever awarded to a program in one year. Mr. Hooper, receiving his first Directors Guild of America Award nomination, directed all nine hours of the HBO Films miniseries. ABOUT SAOIRSE RONAN
Saoirse Ronan (Eilis Lacey) is best known for her starring role in the feature film "Atonement," directed by Joe Wright, in which she starred opposite Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. Ronan was 13 years old when she earned an Oscar nomination as well as Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for the critically-acclaimed performance. Ronan is currently in production on the movie adaptation of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" directed by Michael Mayer. She stars opposite Annette Bening and Corey Stoll based on the play of the same name. Recently, Ronan was seen in Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel." In 2013, she starred in Open Road Films' "The Host," the film adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's popular novel. She also lent her voice in "Justin and the Knights of Valour," an animation film directed by Manuel Sicilia which also stars Antonio Banderas. She was also seen in "How I Live Now," which premiered at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival. Directed by Kevin Macdonald, Ronan played the lead role of 'Daisy' opposite George MacKay, Tom Holland, and Harley Bird. Ronan was also seen in "Byzantium" starring opposite Gemma Arterton and directed by Neil Jordan which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2012. Ronan was seen in 2010 starring in Focus Features' action-thriller "Hanna," directed by Joe Wright. Ronan played the title character, a teenage girl trained from birth to be an assassin. The cast includes Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana. She was also seen in "The Way Back," directed by Peter Weir and starring Ed Harris, Colin Farrell and Jim Sturgess. Inspired by Slavomir Rawicz's novel The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom, the film tells the story of a small group of multi-national prisoners who escaped a Siberian gulag in 1940 and made their way across five countries. One of the most promising actors of her generations, Alicia Vikander has been a talent to watch in cinema over the past five years, gaining international recognition. Over only the last five years, JASON MITCHELL has steadily been building a reputation as an actor on the rise. This summer Mitchell was seen playing the iconic "Eazy E" in Universal's N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton" beating out competition from around the country for the coveted role. Jason will next reunite with his "Straight Outta Compton" co-star Corey Hawkins, as well as Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson, to battle King Kong in Warner Bros' "Kong: Skull Island."
