Kevin Cahoon and Band Play Ars Nova on July 18th

Singer/songwriter Kevin Cahoon, who currently plays the nefarious Ratcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will perform with his band Ghetto Cowboy at Ars Nova (511 W. 54th St.) on Monday, July 18th at 8 PM.

"With their unique combination of punk and glam rock," states a press article, Cahoon and his band have "become one of the most buzzed about music events in New York City's downtown music scene. Having already packed such venues as Irving Plaza, CBGB's, and Don Hill's, the band will rock the Nova for one night only!"  Joining Cahoon on stage will be Damien Bassman, Brien Brannigan, Tracy Nicole Chapman, Matthew Greer, Christian Hebel, Stephen Oremus, Angela Lockett, Jan Tilley, and more.

Cahoon made his Broadway debut as a replacement in The Who's Tommy, and originated the role of Ed in The Lion King.  He has also appeared on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show, and off-Broadway in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Since Ars Nova opened 2 years ago, some of New York's top writers, directors and performers have developed and performed projects at the venue, including Rufus Wainwright, Sandra Bernhard, John Cameron Mitchell, Jason Biggs, Sarah Jessica Parker, Amy Sedaris, Paul Rudd, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, The Wau Wau Sisters, Moises Kaufman, James Lapine, Tony Kushner, Stephen Belber, and Michael Patrick King. Ars Nova produces theater, comedy and music events, making exciting live entertainment accessible to a New York audience at affordable prices. In addition to fully staged productions, Ars Nova offers a free play reading series (Out Loud), an alternative music and comedy series (Thursdays at 10), a musical theater series (Broadway Spotlight), a singer/songwriter series (Uncharted) and in-house writers' workshops.
