Kieran Culkin will return to the stage in Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia, which will be presented by Second Stage Theatre.  The show will begin previews on September 6th for a September 28th opening.

Joining the young theatre and film star will be Diksha Basu, Jessica Capshaw (Fat Pig), Michael Esper (Manic Flight Reaction), Halley Feiffer, Kelli Garner (Dog Sees God), Daniel Eric Gold (The Paris Letter), Manu Narayan (Bombay Dreams), and Peter Scanavino (Shining City).  Jo Bonney (Some Girl(s), A Soldier's Play) will direct; she is also married to Bogosian.

"Eric Bogosian's groundbreaking and bitterly funny play subUrbia examines a day in the life of seven rootless young Americans who gather in the parking lot of a Pakistani family's convenience store," state press notes. The play, which premiered at Lincoln Center Theatre in 1994, will be updated for this production.

Culkin's previous theatre credits include last year's Off-Broadway hit After Ashley, The Moment When at Playwrights Horizons and This is Our Youth in the West End.   His film credits include Igby Goes Down, The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, The Cider House Rules, the Father of the Bride movies and the Home Alone movies.  He made his film debut at the age of 8.

Bogosian's other plays include Wake Up and Smell the Coffee, Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll, Talk Radio, and Drinking in America.

Second Stage Theatre's 2006-2007 season will also include Terrence McNally's Some Men, and Theresa Rebeck's The Scene (with a fourth play to be announced).
