John Krasinski is trading in Dunder Mifflin for the CIA.

According to Deadline, the former 'OFFICE' star has been tapped to play Jack Ryan in Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland's take on the famous Tom Clancy character for Amazon. Titled JACK RYAN, the project hails from Paramount TV, and will be produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and Skydance Media.

This iteration on the character is "based on Clancy's novels, the show is not a direct adaptation of the books as were the first Jack Ryan movies but a new contemporary take on the character in his prime as a CIA analyst/operative using the novels as source material."

Though it's yet to officially been ordered to series, sources say that Krasinski's casting "would likely tip the scales and help net a series order. "
