Lyric Opera of Chicago will soon present Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, starring Steven Pasquale as carousel barker Billy Bigelow, Laura Osnes as his true love, millworker Julie Jordan. Carousel will be directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford, who made his Lyric debut in the 2013-14 season directing a new production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville. Carousel will run April 10 to May 3 at the Civic Opera House (opening night April 11).

Both Broadway favorites, Osnes and Pasquale will travel to the midwest to take on these iconic roles, and we can't wait to see what happens when they unite onstage. In anticipation of the production, BroadwayWorld brings you our very own list of reasons that we adore both of them!

1. They have humble beginnings.

Before she was leading Broadway musicals like Cinderella, Bonnie & Clyde, South Pacific and many others, Laura was just 'Small Town Sandy" as a contestant on 'Grease: You're the One That I Want.' Minnesota-born Osnes shot to stardom after winning the whole competition and earning a leading role on Broadway.

A central Pennsylvania native, Pasquale, who has never had formal vocal training, cut his theatre teeth doing national tours of West Side Story and Miss Saigon. Not until years later did he make his Broadway debut in Reasons to Be Pretty.

2. They can sing like angels.

I mean, really... does it get any better than these two?

3. They can do it all!

Not only has Steven conquerred musicals AND plays, but he has also made a splash on the small screen, playing roles on FX's Rescue Me, NBC's Do No Harm, and currently on CBS' The Good Wife.

Laura has also made her rounds, appearing in many shows at Encores! (The Band Wagon, Pipe Dream, Faust) as well as releasing several solo albums ('If I Tell You' and 'Dream a Little Dream') and appearing in concerts across the country!

4. They're social media pros.

What fan doesn't love constant updates from their favorite stars? These two have got it down, each with tons of frequent updates on Twitter!

5. Have we mentioned their voices?

Really though, these to are going to kill as Billy and Julie! Get your tickets today!
