Five popular online do-it-yourself crafters join HGTV to launch the network's first-ever Youtube channel, HGTV Handmade (youtube.com/hgtvhandmade), a new collaborative crafting channel that features some of YouTube's top tastemakers. HGTV.com's Marianne Canada (WeekdayCrafternoon), Meg Allan Cole (MeganAllanColeCrafts), Karen Kavett (xperpetualmotion), Ann Le (Anneorshine) and Julia Wycliff (SimpleDIYs) each host a weekly how-to vlog that features fun DIY projects such as how to create fashion accessories, handmade jewelry and home décor. Online visitors can subscribe to the channel to receive daily inspiration and share their favorite videos with other crafty fans.

"HGTV Handmade provides us with a great opportunity to connect with a new generation of do-it-yourselfers," explained Amy Lawless, Vice president, digital strategy and planning. "By broadening the scope of what DIY lifestyle means, we can appeal to fans who maybe aren't quite ready for their first apartment, but that love to showcase their creativity through crafting and design."

New videos on HGTV Handmade will be posted six days a week and are designed to empower savvy young DIY-ers to express their creativity and inspire a love of design. Videos featured on the channel include, Meg's driftwood centerpiece project, Julia's simple do-it-yourself welcome mat, Marianne's citrus and ginger home fragrances, a tour of Anne's craft room and Karen's "Throwback Thursday" video that showcases how to make homemade fairy wings.

"Everybody brings something different to the table," said Ms. Canada. "We all have different styles, aesthetics and preferences, but the one thing we have in common is our love for making things."
