Authors Fred Bernhard and Jeremy Ashworth have well over half a century of combined pastoral experience between them, with Bernhard's experience breaking 50 years on its own. In their new book, "Outrageous and Courageous" (published by WestBow Press), they talk of evangelism, interpersonal relationships and more, based on the people and experiences they have encountered during their pastoral careers.

Using an approachable, everyday tone, Bernhard and Ashworth aim to show readers that evangelism doesn't have to be "about salesmanship or big-haired TV preachers," Bernhard writes.

"Relational evangelism is about taking the risk of building genuine, caring friendships and sharing our faith in everyday living and normal conversation."

Throughout their book, Bernhard and Ashworth retell numerous stories pulled straight from their pastoral lives. The stories are used to reinforce the many messages of friendship, faith and evangelism they are hoping to impress on readers. Ultimately, they are hopeful that their encouraging stories and experiences will motivate readers to be friendly to others and act as everyday evangelicals spreading faith.
