Francesca Harper to Join Sweet Charity Tour as Helene

Francesca Harper, who is currently on leave from the Broadway cast of The Color Purple, has joined the cast of Sweet Charity and will perform the role of Helene opposite Molly Ringwald on tour.

Harper has performed in Fosse, The Frogs, All Shook Up and The Color Purple, on Broadway and in the movie musical version of The Producers.  She has understudied and performed lead roles in Fosse, The Frogs, All Shook Up and The Color Purple Helene is her first principal role.

Harper is also the director of her own company, The Francesca Harper Project   The company will be having a Sneak Preview Showing entitled, Modo Fusion, Channel 2:One at the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation / Joan Weill Center for Dance on January 22nd, 2007 at 8pm.  She has already been invited to perform in Holland, Kenya, and Austria.

"In Channel 2:One, Harper will be performing her rich mix of soul-inspired R&B and rhythmic electronica grooves off of her debut full-length solo album Modo Fusion, (available on Cd Baby, Amazon, and I-tunes), along with the Modo Fusion Lounge Band featuring Damon Banks (bass), Bruce Cox (drums), and Victor Y. See Yuen (percussion). 'Modo Fusion Lounge' serves as an ever-evolving show. Other guests include cast members from The Color Purple, and television host, Emme," press notes state.

Harper, who trained in ballet and modern dance, has performed with the Dance Theater of Harlem as well as William Forsythe's Ballet Frankfurt as a Principal Dancer. 

The Sweet Charity tour, based on Walter Bobbie's recent Broadway revival, also stars Guy Adkins, Amanda Watkins, Aaron Ramey, Angel Reda, and Richard RuizKisha Howard currently plays Helene.
